Apply VAX Pre-Treatment solution to your rug, allowing it to sit and soak in for a few minutes, this will lift dirt perfectly with no need to agitate the rug fibres. For optimal results, go over the same area again with your VAX Carpet Cleaner Solution and usual carpet washer routine. If your VAX machine is equipped with a trigger, you can utilise this to conveniently purge the rug with extra water and solution. Both of our SmartWash machines allow you to go forwards and backwards as many times necessary.

When cleaning a shag rug, also known as a high-pile rug, proceed with a similar course of action to a wool rug. Simply apply pre-treatment and finish off with your regular carpet cleaning upkeep, there are however some factors to consider. We encourage that in the first instance, you get as much liquid sucked up, without having to scrub the stain. You may then add solution and gently switch between dabbing and extracting until the stain is fully removed. Our carpet shampooers with SpinScrub elements are purpose-built for gliding over shag rugs that contain a looser weave construction.

Our carpet cleaning machines are designed to be used alongside the VAX solution range for the best outcome. All VAX solutions are approved by the Woolsafe Organisation for use on wet-cleanable fibres, including wool. For sizeable wool areas, we would advise using our upright carpet cleaners , in accordance with the user guide, for any stain removal or deep clean purposes. Please note, operating the machine in a slow and controlled motion leads to achieving an overall thorough clean. When specially tackling tough stains such as red wine, tea or coffee on wool rugs, a VAX Spot Cleaner is the right choice. Be sure to extract as much liquid as possible from your rug, whilst preventing the release of excess water at the same time. Make use of our pre-treatment solution or alternatively use the trigger to directly target the stain on the wool rug.
